
The Antwerp traffic police checked a few trucks and buses at the Spoor Oost parking lot this weekend. A total of 19 vehicles were thoroughly scrutinized. On Sunday, the traffic police controlled ten buses, six trucks and three light-duty vehicles. A total of more than € 18,000 in fines was collected and two police reports were drawn up.
Seven infringements were found around driving and rest times. In five drivers, the tachograph was out of order, and in 4 drivers fraud was even detected with the tachograph. One vehicle was out of order with the inspection, one driver did not have the correct permits, a vehicle had not correctly secured his cargo and two vehicles were overloaded.
In addition, one driver was caught on cell phones behind the wheel and two traffic fines were handed out.
